Craig Edelman - President and Founder
Mr. Edelman studied economics and finance at the Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania, and graduated with a B.S. in Economics in 1995.
From 1995 through 1998, he consulted to Fortune 500 clients as a Financial
Analyst at Price Waterhouse Coopers in New York, Philadelphia and Tokyo. Mr.
Edelman led multiple project teams and completed over 100 assignments during
his tenure. In 1998, he left PricewaterhouseCoopers to continue his business
studies at Cornell University, where he earned an M.B.A. with an emphasis on
business development in 2000. While there, he was the head teaching Assistant
for the Entrepreneurship and Personal Enterprise program. Upon graduation, he
was employed by the Clorox Company where he managed the business of national
consumer brands. Also in the retail sector, Craig worked for Proctor and Gamble
and Rexall Sundown, managing large marketing and product development budgets.
Mason Randall - Director of Operations
Mr. Randall studied business administration and computer science at The New
York Institute of Technology. He was pursued by a local liquor distributor in
New York, Capital Distributors, where he began his career in operations and
distribution. He quickly progressed into upper management as an operations
manager in charge of the companies 3 distribution centers. Upon the sale of
Capital Distributors in 1992 Mr. Randall relocated to Florida and began working
with Southern Wine and Spirits as a consultant. In 1993 Dade Paper and Bag
Company, a privately owned distributor of disposable paper products was
experiencing strong growth and Mr. Randall joined their management team to give
them a sound operations foundation to support their growth. The company was
able to grow in sales from $50 million per year to over $200 million during his
tenure of over 10 years. Mr. Randall has a strong background in distribution,
operations, negotiating, budgeting, cost control and staff building.
Michael Benkert - Director
Mr. Benkert graduated with a B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1962. He
has an extensive and varied business career, having worked with Ford Motor
Company in transportation and logistics management for twenty years from 1962
to 1983. Subsequent to Ford, five years were devoted to working in all aspects
of real estate development involving marketing, sales, finance management and
construction of over 200 town homes in Northern California. He was also a
co-owner of a large commercial maintenance company from 1988 to December 2003.
He continues as President of Benkert Associates an investment and marketing
firm established in 1983. Mr. Benkert has been an active Rotarian for
twenty-two years, in which served on the board of directors and currently
serves as treasurer of the club’s Endowment Board.
Jay Finkelman—Director
Jay M. Finkelman, Ph.D., C.P.E. is an Industrial and Forensic Psychologist as
well as a Certified Professional Ergonomist. He holds a Ph.D. in
Industrial/Organizational Psychology from New York University and an M.B.A. in
Industrial Psychology from the Bernard M. Baruch School of Business of The City
University of New York. He has consulted to numerous start-ups in sales,
marketing and human resource capacities. He also served as Vice President under
Michael Eisner at Disney, responsible for TV marketing. Dr. Finkelman is
currently Professor and Dean of Alliant International University’s California
School of Organizational Studies graduate programs in Organizational
Psychology. His previous three decades of experience as a consultant, sales
executive, marketing manager and expert witness in employment, staffing and
human resources management will serve HappyWares well as the company grows and
faces the challenges of larger companies. Craig and Jay have known each other
for almost 5 years as close friends and colleagues, and they worked together on
a start-up venture in California in the late 1990s.
Business Consultant: JMD Communications
JMD Communications is a group of experienced professionals dedicated to
delivering consulting services to Micro Cap and development stage companies.
The firm has a vast network of solid people who can bring a variety of services
being shareholder communications, investor relations, funding, and SEC legal
counsel. JMD Communications is headed up by Jeffrey Dashefsky who recently
completed work for a full service SEC law firm that specialized in all matters
pertaining to publicly traded companies. The last 2 years Mr. Dashefsky was the
managing director for the shareholder communications division and his team
handled all aspects of managing the client shareholders from a public relations
perspective.
